Osteopathy

Osteopathy is one of the most established and respected forms of Complementary Medicine in the United Kingdom. There are over 4000 of us, providing treatment to around 6 million people a year!

  • Osteopaths are trained to a high level, undergoing a minimum of four years full-time training; furthermore there is statutory regulation of Osteopaths in the UK – www.osteopathy.org.uk
  • Osteopathy is diagnosis and treatment through touch, supported by consultation and examination of a patient.
  • It is a hands-on approach that focuses on human bio-mechanics.
  • There are different types of methods that we use including the rhythmical movement of joints, stretching and massaging of muscles, ‘clicking’ of joints and very gentle ‘cranial’ procedures. At Sound of Health I tend to use approaches that are very gentle in nature.
